Objective

The Medical Billing and Coding course is designed to prepare students for entry level employment as a Medical Biller/Coder who performs administrative duties including medical billing and coding.  Medical billing involves submitting and following up on claims to insurance companies to receive payment for service rendered.   Students will learn to manage records and file claims, prepare insurance forms and handle billing. Graduates of this program will have a working knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, insurance billing, re-imbursement and may assist in daily operations of the facility. 

 Opportunities for Employment

The U.S. is experiencing a shortage of qualified, credentialed coding personnel.  Successful graduates can expect to find employment in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, doctor=s offices, etc.
